Calcaneus {heal bone} Fracture

See the calcaneus bone?

The heal bone, on the front side a piece is broken off.

I am in a cast for at least 4 weeks!!!!!

When the doc was showing me the plastic foot model, she had to pry the foot bone pieces apart to show me where the break was, its down in the middle of the foot, they said its an odd place for a break, the tendons and ligaments are just fine.

Sorry, can’t decide which picture I like the best.

This light blue cast { same color as on the picture above} will be on for 2 weeks with no movement or weight being placed on the foot.

Then another x-ray and another cast. I asked for purple next time, it’s my favorite color.

Depending on the healing, I might be able to put a little weight on it next round.

The  piece of bone is not displaced, meaning its not floating around willy-nilly in there and should heal, but if not, then surgery would be performed to get the piece out and file back the edge of the cuboid.

I tried to drive with my left foot today and used the crutch to push the gas.

Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
