Pardon Me, Im Prospering
Pardon Me, I’m Prospering! is designed to:* Challenge the five myths that hinder Christians from prospering The Pursuit of Happiness Part 2: Five Keys to Happiness “I know there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.” Ecclesiastes 3:12 God wants us to be happy, but He doesn’t want us to assume we can find happiness in whatever we think might make us happy. The Bible teaches us to live in gratitude, peace, contentment, joy, purpose and confidence. God made us to be happy. Our most natural life is happy and at peace. God didn’t intend for us to live miserable, unhappy lives. People end up not being happy when fears or frustration take over their mind. There is nothing better than for us to BE happy. |

Bill Wiese saw the searing flames of hell, felt total isolation, and experienced the putrid and rotting stench, deafening screams of agony, terrorizing demons, and finally, the strong hand of God lifting him out of the pit.
”Tell them I am coming very, very soon!“
Wiese’s visit to the devil’s lair lasted just twenty-three minutes, but he returned with vivid details etched in his memory. Since this life-changing ordeal, he has spent the last seven years studying the Scriptures to find answers and has listed more than 150 Bible verses referencing hell.
Everyone is curious about the afterlife, and now Wiese shares his insights to commonly asked questions such as:
* Is hell a literal burning place?
* Where is hell?
* Do you have a body in hell?
* Are there Degrees of punishment in hell?
* Are there children in hell?
* Can Demons torment people in hell?
* Can “good” people go to hell?
“Even if you don’t believe my story, I hope you will believe the Scriptures and avoid hell just the same.“

2 Peter 2
False Teachers and Their Destruction
1But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Pardon Me, Im Prospering

I shy away from books about prosperity. I’m anxious to hear your tack on this one. Some are about “magical” beliefs or chants. I prefer to look at Dave Ramsey’s stuff–it’s a little more concrete.
Though I will say this: My non-Christian friends who have known me for a long time always assumed I made 2-3x as much money as I did because we lived so well on so little. I have been miraculously given 5 cars (4 by people who have never met me) and have had tons of miraculous provision as well.
Don’t understand much about happiness, so I’ll let you read and comment about that one. Not that I am not happy, I’ve just never analyzed it.
23 minutes in hell. I have read that “near death” experiences closely parallel pilots in G-Force training who pass out. It’s possible those images are simply the process of brain near-death.
I did read a book “My Glimpse of Eternity” some years ago about a woman who supposedly was dead for some time (like 1 1/2 hours) and spontaneously revived, but I don’t know about the veracity of her claims.
Lazarus would be a much different story!
What, Kevin, you’re not into the Mantra of Jabez?? It’s from the Bible, you know! (No, really, Dave Ramsey pretty much rocks. Smart, bald, and 40-something, AND that cute accent? Whew! [That's for you, K-Woman!])
I’ve always thought Lazarus must’ve been miffed to have to come back and be sinful, sorrowful, and mortal again. Once I go to glory, I think I’d rather stay, thanks. (But Jesus knew otherwise ’bout where Laz should be–I’m just sayin’.)
i listened to dave ramsey on the radio the other day when we were driving to the lake house.
He is mean! Well, straight forward and blunt doesnt like stupid people, type of mean.
Whoa, kinda like Kevin!!!
ASH, What accent? i thought he sounded kinda hick? Are we talking about the same guy? on 630 or 820 AM radio?
Im saving my opinion of this until some more people comment…..
Pardon Me, I’m Prospering!?!?!?
I can just see that next to his 5′x 8′, larger than life self portrait. Too funny, TJ
We should’ve seen that coming
Oh, and Ash — Kevin Gerald was into the Jabez mantra, big time, but that was so 2000.
Yeah, you’ve gotta worry when certain passages of Scripture are “dated” after a few years.
Kristina, you’re from Bremerton! Don’t you know hick is hot? Tsk.
Thanks again for stayin’ up late talking/listening me back into relative sanity last night. Yeesh! I always know I can count on you for a non-holier-than-thou butt-kicking… which is what I’m usually due for. Love ya. EAT LOTS OF PIEROGI FOR ME THIS MORNING!!!
Never heard Ramsey’s radio show, but I have read a couple of his books. He has a pretty good 7 step plan to get your finances in order.
The PoJ: “My friends all prayed the prayer of Jabez and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.”
Oh, and Kris, I’m trying to tone down the blaspheme. Really I am.
“I shy away from books about prosperity.”
I shy away from most people who preach prosperity, because their interests appear far too worldly. Plus, I think of the faith of those in the perescuted church throughout the world, that live in poverty and horrid conditions. I think it is an affront to their spiritual walk.
Those of you who know me, know this was a ‘joke’
I will call it my lame attempt at a april fools joke.
the first 2 books (one is a sermon series) is from the health/wealth pastor who runs the mega church right across the street from us.
As TJ (my friend from when our kids went to the school connected to that chruch, right across the street)
says, there is a huge 8 foot by 5 foot banner of the pastor in the foyer of the church emblazoned with his name and school of wisdom name.
Ash was asking whorechurch if he was into prayer of jabez. Which obviously he is not, he just got the t-shirt.
i totally agree w/total tranny. its an affront to the gospel.
and the last book, i saw in the christian book distributors catalog.
havent read any of these books, but i did read one of K. Gerald’s books on parenting. not a litery masterpiece.
anyhow, i’m not recommending these books, but i’m sure there will be some people interested in the websites.
kristina
Good for you K. I totally bought it.
